How to Activate FaceTime on iPhone 4 Without Jailbreak (Mac)

Although many iPhone 4 users have been waiting for Apple to allow the use of FaceTime through a 3G connection, unfortunately, the Cupertino company still maintains limitation and iPhone 4 FaceTime feature requires to be used only through Wi-Fi networks. Certainly we can overcome this limitation by jailbreak and applications like My3G or 3G Unrestrictor allow us to use FaceTime via 3G. However, this tutorial shows you another method how to activate FaceTime function on iPhone 4 without a jailbreak.

  1. Download iOS 5 and also redsn0w version.
  2. Open redsn0w, select the menu Extras>Select ipsw and select the downloaded ipsw in step 1.
  3. Return to main menu and then enter iPhone 4 in DFU Mode.
  4. After entering in DFU Mode press the button Jailbreak and from the menu un-check the Install Cydia and check only Enable FaceTime over 3G.

redsn0w should do its job and after the iPhone 4 reboots you should be able make calls via 3G FaceTime. This method should not make a jailbreak however try it on your own responsibility.
